Beyond the Socials: Supporting Young People in a Changing Digital World

Free Online Sessions. Supporting young people, parents and carers through changes to social media.

The digital world plays a huge role in how young people learn, connect and form identity. With increasing screen time and social media use, many parents and carers are concerned about the impact on emotional wellbeing, behaviour and self-esteem.

With the introduction of the Online Safety Amendment (Social Media Minimum Age) Act 2024, young people under 16 are facing limits on accessing certain social media platforms. These changes may lead to digital stress, frustration, or withdrawal, and many families are unsure how to respond.

At Helm, we help families navigate these changes with confidence, understanding and practical support.

Beyond the Socials is a free education and support program offered by Helm (powered by Caraniche) for parents and carers. Our behavioural specialists provide guidance to help families and young people:

Beyond the Socials is a free online education and support program for parents and carers. Offered by Caraniche, it helps families navigate social media changes, manage screen time, and support youth mental health and wellbeing.

With the Online Safety Amendment (Social Media Minimum Age) Act 2024, young people under 16 face new restrictions on social media platforms. These changes can cause digital stress, frustration, or withdrawal. Caraniche’s Beyond the Screen program provides expert guidance and practical strategies to help families adapt confidently.

The Beyond the Screen program is ideal for parents and carers of children aged 9–16, as well as schools and community organisations focused on youth wellbeing. Families experiencing screen time conflict, digital stress, or online overwhelm will benefit most.

Participants gain confidence in managing digital changes, learn healthy screen time routines, and receive a personalised Game Plan for social media adjustments. You’ll also have access to ongoing online parent support groups and optional one-on-one counselling.

Register easily by viewing upcoming dates and signing up by clicking on this link. All sessions are free online workshops, with costs only applying for optional individual counselling.
